Applied Biosystems 3130xl Genetic Analyzer (16 Capillaries) in ICMR-Vector Control Research Centre is working on the principle of Sanger dideoxy sequencing method. The facility is used to get sequence length of 600 bp with 36 cm capillary and 850 bp length with 50 cm capillary according to the specifications of 3130xl genetic analyzer facility. Samples from various Intramural projects and extramural projects were processed for sequencing. Sequencing of samples is being carried out for the identification of vectors (mosquito siblings, Ticks and Mites), Genotyping of viruses (Dengue, Chikungunya), Parasites (Wuchereria bancrofti, Plasmodium falciparum) and molecular characterization of mosquitocidal bacteria.
