Dr. Rituraj Niranjan is working as Sientist-C, in the department of microbiology and immunology. He did his Ph.D. from CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow and Post-doctoral training from CCHMC, Cincinnati, USA. He also worked at CWRU, Cleveland, USA. He has more than 15 years of research experience in the area of immunology and cell biology of various diseases. He is currently leading the group and working on the immunological aspects of vector and vector borne diseases in various projects.

 

Research Interests:

  • Understand the Immunopathogenesis of “Dengue Shock Syndrome (DSS/DHF)
  • Decipher the mechanisms of matrix metalloproteinases involved in the dengue pathogenesis
  • Elucidate the role of molecular and cellular mediators involved in the pathogenesis of Japanese Encephalitis/Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES)
  • Development of immunotherapeutic approaches and/or herbal medicines for the Japanese encephalitis/Acute encephalitis syndrome (AES)
  • Immunodiagnostics for vector borne and other diseases
