Dr. C. Sadanandane, is a Consultant (Scientific) at ICMR-Vector Control Research Centre, Puducherry. He has 37 years of research experience in the field of surveillance, systematics and bionomics of vectors of malaria, filariasis, Japanese encephalitis and dengue and their control. His major research contributions include studies on vector borne zoonotic diseases: surveillance, systematics, distribution and bionomics of ticks and mites in relation to transmission and control of Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD), scrub typhus and other rickettsial infections. Expertise in development and maintenance of Wolbachia-transinfected Aedes aegypti Indian strains for dengue control and studies on their fitness characteristics.
